e-Portfolio

People like to travel and to enjoy new places. However, travelling can have a big negative impact on the environment and local communities. To avoid risks and develop low-impact activities benefiting nature and society, we need to consider resource limitations and cultural uniqueness.

The BLUE TOURISM project, and more specifically the BLUE TOURISM e-portfolio, aims to contribute to this endeavour by mapping a set of sustainable practices. The examples outlined can be used as case studies and best practices.

For a better visualisation, these examples are showcased through Google Earth.

Each case study provides brief information on the background story, the sustainability as well as its innovative aspects of the touristic activities proposed. This is displayed in the form of pop-up windows. You can zoom in and out as you like to visit more case studies with the country and within Europe.
